Honor is all set to launch the Magic 7 series smartphones this month in China. There are likely a number of variants in the lineup, such as the Magic 7 Pro and Magic 7 Ultimate (above). Still, owners could also get an electric sports car developed by RSRacing. And now, a fresh leak coming from popular tipster Digital Chat Station has revealed some of the significant updates that are making it to one such model, which is presumably going to be none other than the Honor Magic 7 Pro.
New Enhancements for Honor Magic 7 Pro
The leak indicated that an impressive uplift would be getting to a future smartphone running the “big cup Snapdragon 8 Gen 4” chipset. These also bring a single-point ultrasonic in-display fingerprint sensor, 100W fast wired charging, and significantly improved wireless charging, as well as a new micro-quad-curved display that has equal-sized bezels all around with the sides quite sharp.
What’s interesting is that the leak suggests these will be the same primary and periscope telephoto cameras as featured in its predecessor. It could indicate only a modest increase in battery capacity as well. While the name of the device was not specifically mentioned, it is safe to assume that it will refer to Honor Magic 7 Pro.
Comparison with Honor Magic 6 Pro
To put the figures into perspective, the Honor Magic 6 Pro featured a 5,600mAh battery that supported branded wired and wireless charging (respectively), as well as reverse wireless charging. New leaks also point to the Magic 7 Pro arriving with a marginally more significant 5,620mAh battery and support for up to 100W wired charging (~80 percent in only twenty-seven minutes).
Camera and Sensor Upgrades
The Honor Magic 7 will also see an interesting upgrade to an Omnivision primary camera sensor from their CMOS manufacturing partner over in China. In addition, rumors are suggesting that good old OMNIVISION was the maker of the main OmniVision that writes sensors for cameras. The HM3 is also found on the Huawei Pura 70 and Xiaomi 14, two models that were lauded for their fantastic cameras. In addition, the Magic 7 Ultimate Edition is rumored to launch as late as 2025, featuring OmniVision’s new OV50K large sensor.
These significant updates hint that the Honor Magic 7 Pro will have improved performance, better charging capabilities, and an overall enhanced display prowess — a possible flagship contender in the smartphone market.
