iQOO 12 and 12 Pro Launch With Latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC

iQOO 12 And iQOO 12 Pro Specifications & Features & Launch Date: The iQOO 12 series was shown today in China by iQOO. Before the launch, Vivo’s sub-brand had leaked much information about the newest smartphones’ specs and features. The iQOO 12 and iQOO 12 Pro are the follow-ups to the iQOO 11 and 11 Pro from last year. One phone is different from the other. Of the two gadgets, the Pro type is the more high-end one. Let’s look at what the iQOO 12 duo can do technically.

Design & Display

The screen on the iQOO 12 duo is an AMOLED screen with a refresh rate of 144Hz and a maximum brightness of 3,000 nits. It also comes with a fingerprint reader and works with HDR10. The standard model has a flat screen that is 6.74 inches and has a resolution of 1.5K. The pro model has a curved-edge 6.7-inch 2K display. 

Regarding design, the iQOO 12 is boxy, while the iQOO 12 Pro is thin. It’s nice that both phones have a square camera module with curved ends on the back, which differs from the earlier iQOO flagships’ rectangular island. With an IP64 rating, the iQOO 12 is protected from dust and water. With an IP68 rating, the iQOO 12 Pro is also secured. 

Camera

You can snap pictures with the iQOO 12 duo’s multiple cameras on the back. Both devices have a primary 50MP 1/1.3 camera with OIS, a 50MP ultra-wide-angle lens, and a 64MP long periscope unit that supports OIS and has 3x optical zoom, 100x digital zoom, and OIS. The phones come with a 16MP camera on the front for taking selfies. 

Hardware & Software

Both 12 & Pro versions have a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip inside. There is also a special e-sports Q1 engine that makes the game experience better and more engaging. The phones come with up to 16GB of LPDDR5x RAM and 1TB of UFS 4.0 storage. The ship has a big VC vapor chamber and a four-zone cooling system to eliminate heat. Once you turn them on, they run OriginOS 4, based on Android 14. 

Connectivity & Battery

The iQOO 12 boasts a 5,000mAh battery and can be charged via a 120W cable. Its power comes from a 5,100mAh cell, which can be accused of 120W of wired control or 50W of wireless power.

The iQOO 12 series has a linear motor for the X-axis and two audio speakers, among other things. The phones have a USB-C port, Wi-Fi-7, NFC, IR Blaster, and Bluetooth 5.4 for connecting to other devices. 

Price

The iQOO 12 starts at CNY 3,999 (about $550) for the 12GB + 256GB model. The 16GB + 512GB and 16GB + 1TB models cost CNY 4,299 (about $590) and CNY 4,699 (about $645), respectively. On the other hand, the Pro model only comes with 16GB of RAM and 256GB, 512GB, or 1TB of storage. The prices for these are CNY 4,999 ($685), CNY 5,499 ($755), and CNY 5,999 ($825). The iQOO 12 duo comes in three colors: black, white, and red.
