Huawei P70 May Use The Kirin 9010 Chipset: Smart Pikachu on Weibo says the Huawei P70 series will employ a new HiSilicon chipset called “Kirin 9010“. The chip has been under development for a while.
We heard about Kirin 9010 three years ago when another leakster announced it would be a 3nm processor. The most probable foundry was TSMC, but Huawei’s trade constraints make this doubtful.
Last week, Huawei was found distributing laptops using TSMC-made Kirin 9006C CPUs, although they were outdated. SMIC makes Kirin 9000s-like 7nm chips, although they perform lower than TSMC’s 5nm.
Will Huawei’s Kirin 9010 be a 3nm chip or simply a name? It may be the latter unless Huawei circumvented trade regulations. The business trademarked the name in 2021 and planned to start manufacturing in 2022; however, that fell through.
Huawei’s P70 series will include 5G. The P70 Art’s ultra-wide camera will sport a 1-inch sensor and a high-quality 1G6P lens. Huawei is reportedly developing sensors for the March P70 series.
