Honor MagicOS 8.0 With AI-Powered New Features: Honor launched MagicOS 8.0 in China as planned. The OS has platform-level AI and intent-based UI. MagicOS 8.0 enhances smart connection, performance, privacy & security, and aesthetics. Honor calls its intent-based UI Magic Portal. It is a shortcut suggestion feature that allows users to switch app services with a swipe.
Magic Portal supports over 100 popular Chinese applications at launch. These apps include travel, productivity, social, search, entertainment, shopping, and eating. Baidu Map, Amap, Didi, Bilibili, Douyin, Youku, and Alipay are popular. MagicLM’s seven billion characteristics enable platform-level data processing on the device for privacy. Honor works with Qualcomm to optimize it for Snapdragon 8 Gen 3.
MagicLM can generate videos and is the first to let users find a frame in their films in addition to natural language understanding. It integrates with the YOYO voice assistant.
Honor also created an LLM Ecosystem in China. This program encourages MagicOS to integrate cloud-based and vertical AI models. First-half 2024 partners Amap, Baidu, and Umetrip will debut their experiences. MagicOS 7.0 featured MagicRing for cross-device functionality. The functionality now supports point-to-point and fully linked network connections.
Its speed has increased by 500% and power efficiency by 25%. Its eight transmission channels enable calls, alerts, keyboard and mouse, files, program windows, and photographs to sync between devices.
Magic Portal allows file transfer to a private area. A new shake-to-block function eliminates pop-up advertising. Finally, AI processes personal data safely on the device.
