Display

The screen on the Zero 8 is enormous.  This isn’t an AMOLED, it’s an IPS LCD with a refresh rate 90Hz and a Full HD+ resolution of 2460 X 1080. Infinix says it can reach up to 480 nits, a very bright screen. The colors are bright but don’t blow your mind, and the 90Hz refresh rate keeps things smooth. You can also change the refresh rate to 60Hz or a dynamic refresh rate to save power.

Hardware & Software

Infinix chose the MediaTek Helio G90T for Zero 8, which is a mid-range chip. Regarding day-to-day speed, you might have noticed a bit of lag or had to restart a frozen app occasionally, but this only happened sometimes. On top of Android 10, Infinix’s XOS 7.0 runs on the Zero 8. Regarding how well it works, XOS is pretty decent. 

Camera

The camera on the Zero 8 is set up strangely. It has a total of six lenses on the front and back. There is a primary camera with 64Mp and an ultrawide camera with 8Mp—nothing to see here. The other two lenses come next. According to Infinix, both have 2 MP cameras. One is likely a depth sensor used for portrait mode, and the other is a closeup lens. 

The primary camera for selfies is a 48Mp, f/2 lens. Two cameras, then pixel bins to 12Mp shots. It’s good but could be better. The details are precise, but there are problems with the dynamic range. It’s joined by an 8Mp ultrawide camera, which is also terrible. The colors are wrong, almost no detail and the faces look like they were put through a smoothing filter.  As for the video, both the front and back cameras can record up to 4K at 30 frames per second.

Storage & Security

In the storage area, you’ll get 8GB RAM and 128GB ROM, and you can add more storage with a dedicated microSD card slot. The phone will have a fingerprint scanner on the right side which also use for the power button, and a face unlock method to keep it safe.

Multimedia & Connectivity

The only one it has is the bottom-firing speaker on the Infinix Zero 8. There is no combination setup or anything like that with the earpiece. The speaker could be more impressive on its own.  The Infinix Zero 8 has two nano SIM slots that can both work in 4G mode at the same time. A Cat-12 4G LTE WorldMode receiver with 3x CA, 4×4 MIMO, and 256QAM is built into the G90T. The SIM tray is enormous, and there is also a spot for a microSD memory card. The Zero 8 has Wi-Fi ac, Bluetooth 5.0, and an FM radio receiver for neighborhood connections. GPS is also on board, of course. A G-sensor, an e-compass, a brightness sensor, a proximity sensor, and a gyroscope are also included.

Battery

The Zero 8 is powered by a 4500mAh battery. Even with the 90Hz update rate locked on, the phone will usually last two days before it needs to be charged again. There is no wireless charging, but the 33W cable charging over USB-C is fast for the price.
