Design & Build Quality

The Infinix Hot 8 has a color-gradient back in shades like Berlin Grey, Ice Blue, Purple, and Milan Black. The phone looks great, especially for how much it costs when it first goes on sale. Even though the phone is made of plastic, the paint job and finish give it a high-end feel. But the back is easy to scratch and picks up fingerprints, so you’ll need to use the case that comes with the phone to protect it.

The phone has good viewing angles and accurate colors, so it won’t be too hard to read when the sun is out. Even though the screen isn’t the best, it works well enough for the price. Also, Widevine L3 support only lets you watch material in standard quality, so the Infinix Hot 8 is for something other than big watchers.

The phone has a 12nm Helio MediaTek P22 octa-core processor with a 2.0GHz clock speed. Under the hood is a standard low-cost processor. The phone can handle everyday jobs without problems, but it gets slow when you try to play a high-end game. We think the phone will only be able to do that for a different price.

It could be better for games, but it’s great for everything else, like browsing, switching between jobs, watching videos, and listening to music. In addition, it has Dirac surround sound technology built in. This technology improves the excellent quality of the device, giving you a more precise and crispier sound.

The XOS 5.0 skin with the Infinix Hot 8 is built on top of Android 9.0. Suppose you used XOS before, which comes with many apps mostly to keep the phone in order. There is a bokeh mode, an AR shot mode, a beauty mode, and a landscape mode.

The selfie clicker is acceptable for the price and takes good shots. The best thing about it would be the front LED flashlight that can be turned on and off. You can change the front flashlight’s brightness by sliding the screen up and down in the camera interface.
