DESIGN & BUILD QUALITY
S22 Ultra has a similar design to the previous Galaxy Note20 Ultra, an evolution of the last methods from that lineage. The most distinctive feature of the Notes is the sharp edges present on this S phone, whereas the more fluid curves are more common.
The Ultra retains its distinctive premium Samsung appearance, with the unmistakably rounded edges of its side edges to the 6.8-inch OLED display – unlike S21 Ultra. S21 Ultra. Gorilla Glass Victus+ protects it. The S21 Ultra, and we see it in the finishing of the panel’s back. The rear retains the same matte finish with frosted flakes that are especially appealing on this black model.
Seven colours are available via retailers and stores. The remaining three options are only available in Samsung’s store, which is only available in countries where it’s legal. The most popular colours are Phantom Black and Phantom White. The S22 Ultra has a camera arrangement that is unique to other Samsung. It comes with five different raised rings: three large ones as well as two small ones.
This frame is Aluminium, and Samsung is calling it Armor Aluminum. It’s an alloy developed by the company in-house that it launched with its new series of folded phones. A fingerprint reader has beneath the screen. Things improved significantly this year, thanks to the latest and bigger sensors.

The typical components have in the usual spots. The mic, card tray, and main loudspeaker are around the USB-C port at the bottom. The second microphone is on above, and the earpiece sits behind a front-facing slit where the upper edge of the display glass is above that selfie camera. In the card slot, there is no option to expand storage. The base 128GB storage for phones of this quality is cheap from Samsung’s perspective and ought to be at least 256GB. The Galaxy S22 Ultra has an IP68 rating.
SAMSUNG GALAXY S22 ULTRA DISPLAY
The Galaxy S22 Ultra has the leading Samsung smartphone display technology. Eye-soothing brightness and a programmable refresh rate resolution up to QHD, S Pen compatibility, and OLED’s black and true colours make for a virtually unrivalled device. Dynamic AMOLED 2X name doesn’t communicate the magnitude of that.
The 6.8-inch screen is curved to the sides, typical of Samsung’s flagship model. For instance, the hole that punches that selfie camera is now transformed from an eye sore into a minor issue. Samsung states that it has 1750nits of brightness at peak and 1200nits in ‘high brightness mode.
Samsung was eager to promote its latest Vision Booster feature, which allows the display to handle bright light more effectively. The smartphone analyzes the images displayed, and depending on what light hits it.
Vivid is the default setting, and it delivers what it promises, covers a broad range of colours, and is entirely accurate. In contrast, the warm environment can take it into the yellow territory. The natural mode appears duller for the eyes. Still, it is highly accurate to test equipment when paired with test swatches in sRGB.
The S22 Ultra can dynamically switch between refresh rates, delivering the correct mode for the displayed content. All over the board, it’s 120 Hz when you touch the display, but it decreases to 24 Hz when idle. Browsers are running with a 60Hz step in the case of dynamic content displayed even though you’re not in contact with the display. Games that have high frame rates receive 120 Hz. When playing back video, it will match the frame rate to the frame rate of the video 24-Hz for 24fps or 30Hz for 30fps, and the list goes on. This is the case for HDR playback.
SAMSUNG GALAXY S22 ULTRA SOFTWARE
The Galaxy S22 Ultra runs Android 12 with OneUI. Samsung’s customized overlay is present in the 4.1 version of the S22s. An S Pen Note device is a fantastic amount of S Pen-related functionality. This latest version of the S Pen-enabled Galaxy supports handwriting recognition in an additional 12 languages, taking the total number of languages to an astounding 88.
Its S Pen on the S22 Ultra is active. She comes with batteries inside and an accelerometer, Gyro, and Bluetooth connectivity to communicate with the phone without immediate proximity. It also allows Air actions. The most important is the camera. We’d also say that buttons are much more affluent than gestures that require a lot of effort to master and implement. Advanced screen capture is among the S Pen’s most popular uses. Bright select lets you create different-looking screenshots.
The fingerprint reader under the display is likely the primary method of unlocking the device for most users. However, you may also utilize face unlock instead of or in conjunction with it. However, it’s generally more vulnerable since it’s using the camera for selfies, so tampering with it should be easy. The accent colours are used on the dialer, quick toggles, and the other small UI components. You can apply them to the icons of the app as well.
Other long-term proprietary Samsung features include Edge panels, the panes that pop up when you swipe to the side. They offer shortcuts and tools to applications and contacts. An in-house web browser is essential in several modern S Pen capabilities and a reasonably powerful file manager. Samsung Gallery Samsung Gallery also somehow remains.
PERFORMANCE
The Galaxy S22 generation maintains the same duality in the configuration of chipsets that have been the subject of debates between academics for years. In some regions, phones have a Snapdragon SoC, while others have an internal Exynos. However, this year there have been some changes to which models are available and what, with the most noticeable difference being the switch to Exynos in favour of Snapdragon in India.
The Snapdragon 8 Generation 1 and the Exynos 2200 are manufactured on the 4nm production process and have octa-core CPUs that use the same 1+3+4 core configuration. You’ll receive one Cortex-X2 prime core, three Cortex-A710 Cores, and four Cortex-A510 cores with slight variations in the clock speed caps.
The main variations can be observed in the graphics area, in which there is a difference in the Exynos version’s Eclipse 920 GPU built in AMD’s RDNA 2 architecture. The Eclipse can use ray trace for a realistic rendition of light and Variable Rate Shader to ensure optimal utilization of resources across the image. Adreno 720 in the Snapdragon version also supports VRS but does not include the ability to ray trace.
Both chipsets have advanced connectivity options, such as built-in 5G modems, Wi-Fi 6e, and dual-band GPS. The latest generation of AI engines in both chips promise AI enhancements that are difficult to quantify. However, Qualcomm claims that this model is four times faster than the predecessor, while Samsung claims 2x.
STORAGE
The easiest to grasp is the memory options available and start with a base (and quite basic, could we include) 8GB of memory and 128GB of storage and up until 12GB RAM with 1TB storage; according to some sources, there is the possibility of a 16GB RAM model too.
SAMSUNG GALAXY S22 ULTRA CAMERA
Samsung’s Galaxy S22 Ultra use a quad-camera setup. Its highlights include a nona-binning primary camera with 108 megapixels that is among the two ultrawide with focusing that Samsung has in its lineup, as well as not just two telephotos with an optical zoom of 10x.
The ultrawide camera in the S22 Ultra is transferred and uses the 1/2.55″ sensor with 1.4um pixels and autofocus with a dual pixel. The lens features an aperture of f/2.2 and has a view that is 120 degrees.
The camera’s primary sensor is ISOCELL HM3. It’s a 1/1.33″ kind of imager with 0.8um in the size of its pixels. Thanks to its Nonapixel color filter array and 9-to-1 pixel-binning, you can think of the camera as being a 12-megapixel model that has 2.4um pixels, but it’s a highly simplified view. It has an approximate focal length of 23mm.
The camera for selfies, however, appears to be identical. The 40MP camera is a 1/2.8″ Tetrapixel sensor with 0.7um pixels, paired with a 26 mm f/2.2 lens. Tetrapixel refers to 4-to-1 binning, in Samsung terms, which means you can expect images of 10MP. However, it shoots crop-mode default to produce 6.5MP photos with a 32mm equivalent focal length.
VIDEO
Samsung’s Galaxy S22 Ultra records video up to 4K60 with its five cameras – which is five cameras, that’s right. It also can record 8K video with its primary camera, only at 24 frames per second. Video stabilization is supported in all of these modes. However, you can disable it if you have a different method of keeping the phone.
8K video captures are encoded using h.265 HEVC, while for the other modes, you have to select between h.264 and h.265. No matter which video mode you choose, the audio recording is done in stereo and has a 256kbps bit speed.
The 4K30 (48Mbps) taken from the primary camera is beautifully clear, which is very good since superior ones are available. The dynamic range is superb, and colour accuracy is excellent without dullness. The 4K60 (70Mbps) is the same as the 4K60 most of the time. However, there is a slight decrease in fine detail.
SOUND
The Galaxy S22 Ultra has a stereo speaker configuration with one at the bottom firing up and the other over the display, which is in front of you and serves as the role of an earpiece. The top speaker is the left channel when in portrait orientation. At the same time, in landscape mode, the phone switch to the right track depending on the accelerometer’s input. Both are distinct, and the bottom speaker does not help the top one in any way.
SAMSUNG GALAXY S22 ULTRA BATTERY
Samsung’s Galaxy S22 Ultra uses a 5,000mAh battery. Also, those who prefer one side or the other of the S/Note balance will be satisfied that the battery’s capacity hasn’t been harmed due to the addition that S Pen and Note enthusiasts will be thrilled to have a boost.
Speed of charging Industry-leading fast charging is something other than what Samsung has done. With the 45W Samsung adapter (EP-TA845), we saw roughly the same number of minutes for the initial 30 minutes and the total charge, similar to the standard 25W adapter. There’s a new 45W adapter that is in development (EP-T4510), but it still needs to be made available for purchase.
