Samsung Galaxy S25/S25+ Will Drop GN3 Sensor: X/Twitter tipster Revengus has shared new information about the cameras on the Galaxy S25 and S25+. According to the source, Samsung will not use the Samsung GN3 sensor for the Galaxy S25 and S25+. Instead, they will use Sony’s image sensor.
The Galaxy S22, S22+, S23, S23+, Fold 4, and Fold 5 are just a few of the Samsung phones that have used the ISOCELL GN3 camera in the last three years. The camera is 50MP and has an aperture of f/1.8. The pixels are 1.0 microns, and Dual Pixel PDAF and OIS work with it.
The source did say that things might change from the Galaxy S25 range on, though. The GN3 sensor has been a steady worker for Samsung’s top-of-the-line phones. So this change could be significant for the company.
At this point, this is only a report, and Samsung may not actually switch to a Sony camera. Still, it’s an exciting development to keep an eye on.
The Galaxy S24 and S24+, which are coming out soon, are likely to keep the same 50MP Samsung GN3 sensor as their primary camera. This will have a 12MP ultra-wide lens and a 10MP zoom lens added to it.
