Design & Display
The Samsung Galaxy M40 has a lot of firsts for its class, like a hole-punch display and an audio screen that vibrates. It has a 6.3-inch full-HD+ PLS TFT LCD screen that is bright and colorful. The screen has good viewing angles, but some vignetting around the edges can be annoying. The body is slim and light, but the back is plastic, so it gets dirty quickly.
Hardware & Software
The Qualcomm Snapdragon 675 SoC inside makes it suitable for gaming. There is only one model with 128GB of storage and 6GB of RAM. This one can be expanded, but you can only put in one SIM card and a microSD card simultaneously since it’s a hybrid spot. OneUI works well and is built on Android 9 Pie.

Camera
With enough light, the 32-megapixel primary camera on the back takes good pictures. But when there isn’t enough light, the autofocus is slow, and the images don’t have enough information. You can use the wide-angle camera, but it could be better. There are 5 megapixels, and the depth camera works well for things and pets but could be better for people. You can record videos up to 4K, but the quality isn’t excellent, and there’s no stabilization.
Battery
The phone has a big battery with a non-removable Li-Po 5000 mAh cell that charges quickly at 15W.
