The Hot 8 phone is a dual nano sim support device; the dual sim is on standby. You can get GPRS, EDGE, 2G, 3G, and 4G networks with dual-band wifi systems.
The Infinix Hot 8 has a color-gradient back in shades like Berlin Grey, Ice Blue, Purple, and Milan Black. The phone looks great, especially for how much it costs when it first goes on sale. Even though the phone is made of plastic, the paint job and finish give it a high-end feel. But the back is easy to scratch and picks up fingerprints, so you’ll need to use the case that comes with the phone to protect it.
The volume knobs are also in good places. On the left, you will find a sim tray. There is also a place for a MicroSD card. At the bottom, you will find a speaker grill, a micro-USB charging port, and a headphone jack. In the back panel, you will get three cameras and a fingerprint reader.
The back is slightly bent to make it easier to hold and use with one hand. The big battery in the phone makes it heavy. You’ll find the usual notch on the top bezel, which holds the selfie camera, LED flash, and other sensors, like ones that let you open the phone with your face. Both biometrics work quickly, so Infinix gets points for that.
The face lock is cute. Before you can open your phone, it blinks its eyes as it looks for your face. Infinix should have used it as a warning light instead. That would have been a better way to use it when it wasn’t being used for its primary purpose: taking selfies at night.
The Infinix Hot 8 has a 6.52-inch screen with a waterdrop notch and a 1,600 x 720 pixels resolution. The phone has good viewing angles and accurate colors, so it won’t be too hard to read when the sun is out. Even though the screen isn’t the best, it works well enough for the price. Also, Widevine L3 support only lets you watch material in standard quality, so the Infinix Hot 8 is for something other than big watchers.
The phone has a 12nm Helio MediaTek P22 octa-core processor with a 2.0GHz clock speed. Under the hood is a standard low-cost processor. The phone can handle everyday jobs without problems, but it gets slow when you try to play a high-end game. We think the phone will only be able to do that for a different price.
It could be better for games, but it’s great for everything else, like browsing, switching between jobs, watching videos, and listening to music. In addition, it has Dirac surround sound technology built in. This technology improves the excellent quality of the device, giving you a more precise and crispier sound.
The XOS 5.0 skin with the Infinix Hot 8 is built on top of Android 9.0. Suppose you used XOS before, which comes with many apps mostly to keep the phone in order. Since most of Infinix’s phones are in the lower price range, which usually means they have low-power hardware, the memory, and processor must be managed more actively.
The Infinix Hot 8 is the first mobile phone from the company to have three cameras. A 13MP + 2MP + low-light camera and a quad-LED flash are on the back. On the front side, you will get an 8MP camera and an LED flash. The camera’s interface is pretty simple. To switch between modes, you can either swipe right or left. There is a bokeh mode, an AR shot mode, a beauty mode, and a landscape mode.
The selfie clicker is acceptable for the price and takes good shots. The best thing about it would be the front LED flashlight that can be turned on and off. You can change the front flashlight’s brightness by sliding the screen up and down in the camera interface.
For the best speed, Infinix used eMMC 5.1 storage system. The mobile comes with two variants- 2/32 GB and 4/64GB. Infinix Hot 8 also allows you to expand storage. You can expand up to 256GB. In the security option, you get a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner, which is very reliable and reasonable.
In the Infinix Hot 8, you will get a single speaker, Loudspeaker, Audio, Video, FM radio & recording option. On Hot 8, you will also get a 3.5mm headphone jack. In the connectivity option, you will get dual band wifi, GPS, Bluetooth 5.0, proximity sensor, and light sensor.
The Infinix Hot 8 has a 5000 mAh battery, which is a lot for a phone with a 720p screen, a low-power chipset, and active battery management. However, the battery life can be good because of these things.
