Xiaomi Redmi Note 12 4G Introduction
Xiaomi Redmi Note 12 4G was first announced on 23 March 2023 and was released on 30 March 2023. There is little distinction between Redmi Note 12 5G and Redmi Note 12 4G versions. There are no apparent disadvantages compared to the 5G version of 4G.
It promises high-end brightness. It’s significant, too, at 6.67″. It’s secured with Gorilla Glass 3 sheet—Snapdragon 685 (6 nm) Processor with Adreno 610 Gpu. The massive 5,000 mAh is fast charging with 33W and, most importantly, runs the most recent version of Android 13 with MIUI 14 out of the box.

Sim & Network
This is not a 5G smartphone. This is a Redmi Note 12 4G version. The Note 12 4G supports 2, 3G, and 4G network connections. The sim type of the device is Dual Sim (Nano Sim). On the other hand, the device supports High-speed Dual-band wifi, Hotspot, and the speed is HSPA and LTE-A
Body & Design
Xiaomi Redmi Note 12 4G has a unique, beautiful, stylish design. The phone has three colors: Onyx Gray, Mint Green, and Ice Blue. The device’s back panel and frame are plastic, and the front is Glass. On the upper side of the screen, we found a punch hole for the front-facing camera. Right side, we found the Volume rocker, power button, and power button used as a fingerprint scanner for phone unlock. Left side, we found the Sim tray, and Upper side of the phone; we got an infrared port and a 3.5mm headphone jack. On the Bottom side, we get USB Port, Speaker Grill, and Microphone hole. Overall the phone is very stylish.
Xiaomi Redmi Note 12 4G Display
Xiaomi Redmi Note 12 4G sports a 6.67-inch AMOLED panel with an average resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels. The panel runs at 120Hz, but it doesn’t conform with any of the HDR standards for video, and that’s good enough. It’s a low-end smartphone at the end of the day.
The display’s brightness peaked at 474 nits. Auto mode increased that to 744 nits. This is close to flagship quality. The brightness is more than enough. The color accuracy of the default mode could be better.
There’s no intelligent rate of refresh control, and there are only two basic modes 60Hz and 120Hz. Most apps and system menus we’ve tried using the 120Hz refresh rate.
Display customizations that remain on are offered in addition to presets. The Notification effect light up the edges of your display whenever notifications are added. There’s not much to customize aside from a couple of different colors and a ‘Starlight option. This effect can be used without or with the AOD.
Hardware & Software
Xiaomi Redmi Note 12 4G uses Qualcomm SM6225 Snapdragon 685 (6 nm) Octa-core processor with Adreno 610 GPU for graphics. This is the latest chipset for the 4G smartphone. The Redmi Note 12 4G runs the latest version of Android 13 beneath the proprietary MIUI 14. The changes are primarily under the top of the hood and aim to improve efficiency and performance.
MIUI 14 is designed almost from scratch, as engineers have improved the fundamental design of the MIUI ROM to be more compatible with the Android Kernel level. This includes a new GPU, CPU, memory scheduling, a smaller firmware size, and reduced memory usage. Ultimately, Xiaomi claims 60% smoother performance and significantly improved processes. The ability to compress apps automatically for those that aren’t frequently used is also available.
Themes have been a significant element of MIUI and are now available on MIUI 14. You can download new themes via the Themes store. You can alter wallpapers, ringtones, icons for the system, and even the constantly-on display style. Super Wallpapers are also available.
Xiaomi has paid particular focus on the haptics of this device, and it’s highly crisp robust, precise, and responsive. It responds to a variety of actions throughout the system as well as when you’re navigating. You can even experience haptic feedback when you feel it is intrusive or not sufficiently robust.
Xiaomi Redmi Note 12 4G Camera
The primary camera uses 50MP 1/2.76″, 0.64um sensor paired with a wide f/1.8 aperture. The two cameras that aren’t included are the most common 8MP f/2.2, 1/4.0″, 1.12um ultrawide camera with a claimed 120-degree field of view and the 2MP f/2.4 camera that can be used for macro photography. Regarding selfies, the phone comes with a 13MP, f/2.5, 1/3.0″ camera.
Near the end, a camera zoom button functions in two different ways. The first is by tapping one of three dots, which are the ultra-wide, primary, and 2x options. Or, you can tap the active magnification and slide it sideways to reveal more zoom levels, 2x and 6x, and an option to show intermediate magnifications. There’s also an enchanting wand that has filters and effects for beauty.
There’s a competent Pro mode that lets you tweak the parameters of your camera. You can utilize the primary and ultrawide cameras in this article. The primary camera can take more than just decent images. In the end, given the price, there’s nothing to be unhappy about the primary camera’s performance. Sharpness and clarity are satisfactory. The colors are similar to the natural world, and the contrast is good.
The ultrawide camera images appear vibrant, with pleasing hues and colors. There is a lot of noise, soft images, and some visible color fringing. Due to the limitations of the chipset, it doesn’t have a 4K video recording mode available. It supports 1080p@30fps with main and ultrawide and selfie cameras. EIS appears to be in a video recorded with ultrawide and main cameras. However, even with 1080p resolution videos, they could be more spectacular. The primary camera produces soft videos with a small dynamic range. The colors, however, are good enough.
Sound
Like its predecessor, the Redmi Note 12 4G doesn’t rely on stereo speakers and solely on a conventional bottom-firing speaker. It gets its job done and is not overly loud; however, it could be better than the Redmi Note 11’s volume and audio quality.
Storage & Security
The Redmi Note 12 4G has a UFS 2.2 storage type. The device comes with – 4GB RAM 64GB ROM, 4GB RAM 128GB ROM, 6GB RAM 128GB ROM, and 8GB RAM 128GB ROM variations. The Note 12 4G has a MicroSD Card slot to expand memory.
Moving to security and privacy, MIUI has come with an app for security that is pre-installed on the system. Apart from the additional layer of protection against malware, the application stores many of the app’s settings and privacy functions in one location. It can control your blocklist, control or limit your use of data, configure battery behaviour, and free up RAM. It also manages the permissions of the installed apps, defines the behavior of the battery of certain apps, and sets restrictions only for specific apps.
Xiaomi Redmi Note 12 4G Battery
The phone comes with a mAh battery of 5,000 mAh, which is the norm nowadays, particularly in this price bracket. The massive battery is paired with a non-demanding Snapdragon 685 processor, which means that battery life is good as you would expect.
Xiaomi Redmi Note 12 4G charges its battery with an electrical charging brick that is 33W and has good charging times. Within the first 30 minutes, you’ll give the 55% portion of your chargeback, and the top-off time is approximately 1 hour and 11 minutes.
