Samsung One UI 6.1 Update With Galaxy AI – 2021-2022 Flagships! Samsung has some big news for folks with certain Samsung Galaxy phones from 2021 and 2022: they’re getting an update called One UI 6.1 and some cool new AI features. And guess what? Even though rumours were saying these phones wouldn’t have AI, it turns out they will!
But there’s a catch: the super fancy AI stuff will only be on the flagship phones from 2021, like the Galaxy S21 series and the fancy foldable ones, the Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Galaxy Z Flip 3. These phones will get features like Google Circle Search and “Magic Rewrite,” which lets you tweak how your messages sound with the Samsung Keyboard.
Now, for the 2022 flagship phones, like the upcoming Galaxy S22 series and the next foldable Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Galaxy Z Flip 4, along with the Galaxy Tab S8 series, they’ll get even more AI tricks. But there’s a bummer: if you don’t use the Instant Slow-mo feature, you won’t be able to slow down videos by long-pressing the screen.
It turns out that the chips inside these phones from before 2023—both Exynos and Snapdragon—have limits preventing them from doing instant slow-mo.
Here’s the list of phones getting the One UI 6.1 update: the recent ones like the Galaxy S21 series, the new ones like Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Galaxy Z Flip 3 (with fewer features), and the ones coming soon in 2022, including the Galaxy S22 series.
The update’s supposed to drop in early May, but it might only hit Korea at first. Samsung has yet to give a complete plan for when it’ll roll out globally, so folks in other places might have to wait a bit longer, maybe until May or later.
