The latest Nothing Phone (1) update, known as Nothing OS 2.5.5, is rolling out with the May 2024 Android security patch. You can manually check for it by going to Settings > System > System Update if you don’t see it.
This update is exciting because it introduces ChatGPT integration. Using a new widget, you can now access this AI chatbot directly from your home screen. This makes it super easy to start chatting with ChatGPT.
Additionally, if you have the company’s Ear (a) earbuds or other supported models, you can start a ChatGPT session using a gesture in the Nothing X app. A handy new button lets you paste text directly into ChatGPT from your screenshot and clipboard menu.
Also included in this update is a RAM Booster feature, which you can enable under Settings > System > RAM Booster to help your phone run smoother. You can now customize your home screen icons with the Nothing Pack and adjust the layout and icons on your home screen more easily. The update allows for more customization of the status bar icons, too.
For better usability, this update refines the auto-brightness feature with a more innovative, AI-powered algorithm, reorganizes the Quick Settings for easier access, and adds new animations to widgets. It also fixes a few annoying bugs, like WiFi disconnecting unexpectedly, earbud volume not syncing correctly with the phone, inconsistent vibration feedback, and issues with taking screenshots.
Overall, this update packs several handy improvements and new features to enhance your experience with the Nothing Phone (1).
